Sir Peter Blake - Mending Broken Hearts Exhibition
At the moment, there's no cure for a broken heart. Once your heart muscle is damaged by a heart attack, it can never fully recover. But there is hope.
£50 million is needed to fund groundbreaking research that could begin to literally 'mend broken hearts' in as little as ten years time.
Your support can give hope to hundreds of thousands of people across the UK.
The Mending Broken Hearts art collection is a great way to own fabulous contemporary art whilst also helping a great cause. The artists invited to create works in the collection include some of the UK's most famous and collectable artists including Sir Peter Blake who famously created the Beatles Sgt Peppers album cover. Other leading artists include Maurice Cockrill, Brad Faine, Duggie Fields, Maggie Hambling CBE, Donald Hamilton Fraser, John Hoyland RA, Patrick Hughes, Bruce McLean, Antony Micallef, Brendan Neiland, Tom Philips CBE, Barbara Rae CBE, Rob Ryan and Storm Thorgeson.
The collection is available to purchase as silkscreen limited editions from galleries throughout the UK either individually or as a portfolio set. The collection is also touring the country at galleries and on the specially converted old Liverpool double decker CCA art bus. The next art bus appearance will be at Hepplestone Fine in Lancashire on June 16th 2011 where the exhibition will continue for two weeks.
The patron of the Mending Broken Hearts appeal is Sir Peter Blake whose bold and iconic composition combines Blake's pop art sensibilities with the subject matter which is close to his heart.
Sir Peter Blake is often known as the ‘Godfather of British Pop Art' and his work is incredibly diverse, ranging from traditional oils on canvas to printmaking, collage and fabric design. His appeal crosses all generational divides and his style is recognisable worldwide.
His work reflects his fascination with all streams of popular culture, and the beauty to be found in everyday objects and surroundings. Blake is renowned for his connection with the music industry, having produced iconic album covers for the Beatles, Paul Weller, The Who, and Oasis.
Knighted in 2002, an honorary doctor of the Royal College of Art, and with his work represented in major collections throughout the world, Sir Peter truly is a grandee of British Art.

The Sookie Stackhhouse series by Charlaine Harris
is pretty entertaining (the series that True Blood is based on). It's like a dirtier, sexier version of twilight... with just as terrible of writing. I definately got tired of it after the seventh book, but I was hooked after the first couple.
