Planning a Fairy Tale Wedding

Many little girls dream of being a princess bride on their wedding day.  This dream can come true if you know how to plan a fairy tale themed wedding.

First, try visiting your local fabric or craft store to find the necessary supplied.  Look for tulle in light colors, such as white and pastels.  To create a fairy tale effect, use spray adhesive on the tulle and then cover it with glitter, preferably gold or silver.  You will want to hang up this tulle around the church or other ceremony area, including on the tables, entryways, chairs, beams, rafters, and pews.  You might also want to hang tulle in the reception space.  Don't forget about adding other finishing touches, too, like ribbons, flowers, and bows.  You can also put touches of glitter on the centerpieces.

Next, think about hiring a horse-drawn carriage.  This creates the ultimate fairy tale effect.  Many companies offer horse-drawn carriages for weddings.  If one is not available in your area, than creating an ice sculpture of a horse-drawn carriage might be a good alternative.  If you are planning a beach wedding, then you might skip the carriage and opt for a ride on horseback instead.

Be sure that your wedding cake matches the fairy tale theme.  You should order a fairy tale cake that depicts the prince groom and princess bride riding off together into the sunset.  You might even ask the baker to create a cake that looks like a castle.  Bring in pictures of famous fairy tale movies for inspiration.

When planning your venue, think of places that create an ethereal atmosphere.  Disney World is the obvious choice for a fairy tale wedding, but you might also consider castles in Europe or even romantic vineyards in California wine country.

These tips will help you to create the fantasy fairy tale wedding of your dreams.

What is an example of a work of literature that reflects a fairy tale?

I just need a few examples of works that reflect fairy tales for a starting point. (More modern works would be better and a few parallels between the work and the fairy tale would be helpful.) Thank you!

The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien is a classic example of a faerie tale, romance aside. More modern versions are books by Mercedes Lackey. She rewrites a lot of old faerie tales and makes them into books. There are tons of authors, but those seem to be the best at it from my point of view. I guess it all depends on what you want exactly as there have been no specifics.
