PROFITABLE PRAYER LIFE

INTRODUCTION

Jesus personally gave this parable in one of His teachings on the
mountain concerning the wise and foolish builder – Matt. 7:22 – 24.
The wise builder lives his prayer life in accordance with the word
of God. He is a student of the word and a strict adherer to the
instructions of the Bible. He builds upon the sure word of prophecy,
not on the principles and the philosophies of man. He builds his
prayerlife aginst the storms and the winds. He is not a careless
builder.

He knows what to do and he does exactly what he knows is right thing
to do. But the foolish builder does not know the word of God let alone
the knowledge of prayer, it is posible for someone to claim to be a
christian and yet be so ignorrant of the word of God, and knowledge of
prayer.

He follows the pattern of others to build. As he built the structure
of his prayer, instead of trying to be different, he joins the crowd and
the popular opinion or method on how a prayer should be Matt. 7:26 – 27.

PREPARATION TO BUILD – LUKE 14:28

Who wants to build a tower that will not sit down and count the cost?
Jesus gave this teaching to convey an important message on preparation
planning and goal-setting. Many believers think that God does not hear
or answer prayer anymore. How can God, who made the heavens and earth upon
a solid rock, fail to answer the prayer of His children.

Prayer is for the righteous; Bible says, "….The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" James 5:16, (Not unrighteous man). Some people
jump into prayer quickly failed. Just because of their sinful life. Read Ps. 66:18,
II John 5:17, Lam. 3:44, Jer. 5:25. If you prepare youself better with the
helps of the Holy Spirit, you will build a meaningful prayer life.

THE MISTAKES OF MOST CHRISTIAN OF TODAY IN PREPARATION
1. Failure to adopt a definite prayer structure or plan at the onset.
2. Failure to set a specific prayer time.
3. Praying without a specific plan or purpose.
4. Using prayer book for prayer.

THE SOLID FOUNDATION – 1 COR. 3:11-12
Christ is the solid foundation, upon which every prayer life can stand
strong.To build a good house is not a day's job. It needs the operation of different experts with different kinds of building materials. The pillars are all very necessary and greatly essential.

The kind of materials used and the professionals that work on site, will determine the quality of the structure. Prayer life is exactly like that. There are structure of prayer which I call A.C.T.I.O.N (search structure of prayer on our website.) Most Christians or ministers we consult can make or mar our prayer life. What ministers say and what we say to ourselves as we lay a prayer foundation are foundamental to the future success of our prayerlife. As foundation of a building determines the solidity and durability of it, so is the beginning of any profitable prayerlife.

FAITH! THE PILLAR OR ROPE OF PROFITABLE PRAYERLIFE

"But without faith it is impossible to please him…." Hebrew 11:6. Your prayerlife must unite with faith, becuase faith is the pillar or rope that connects prayer to God. Prayer life has to do with faith, therefore, it is the substance of what we are expecting from God; God's will for our life. Heb. 11:1

When prayer gets to the father (God), it is the work of faith to touch God's heart either it will be acceptable or not. Therefore, profitable prayerlife must come out of a heart of faith - "But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering". James 1:6.
Unprofitable prayerlife is an enemy to the faith even to the offerer. Is just like wind blowing from West to South without stability in his own way.

Those Christian are those who pray to Almighty God and have other gods to consults for help. Such people and their prayerlife cannot be profitable before God. Meanwhile, our God is a jelousy God, He does not accept comparisom. "…For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways" James 1:6-8 Therefore, a heart of faith must begin your prayer and end it.

Example of a woman, who helps herself in faith. The Canaanite woman – Matthew 15:22-28. How faith changed the heart of Christ with her importunity. It was her great faith that Christ admired to favour her, but Christ was not sent to her verse 24 – 28 declared.

HOW FAITH WORKED FOR THE CANAANITE WOMAN

1. It worked by her tears of faith
2. It worked by her subissive spirit
3. It worked by her importunity
4. It worked by her stability
My breathren, ensure that you spruce-up your prayerlife with zeal to God for
your good.
